As a special supplement to this issue we are pleased to offer a documented history of the formation and development of the psychoanalytic training program of the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center, prepared by Sandor Lorand, M.D., Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry of that Center. We feel that Dr. Lorand's account provides a valuable contribution to the archives of the psychoanalytic profession.
We are also honored by the fact that Dr. Lorand, a distinguished pioneer of the psychoanalytic movement, has become a member of our Board of Consultants.
