This collection of seventeen articles, which grew out of the 1970 Tufts University School of Medicine Fifth Annual Symposium on Psychotherapy, entitled “Confrontation in Psychotherapy,” brings together articles which deal with aspects of confrontation. The articles discuss its place and purpose in the therapeutic process; its uses and misuses in the psychotherapy of borderline cases; its relationship to counter-transference; its use in the analysis of transference resistance; and its use in the treatment of children and adolescents, as well as other subjects.
