Reuben Fine's newest book, Psychoanalytic Psychology, is a call to action aimed at psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and other mental health professionals who render clinical services. Beyond this generic group, however, the appeal is also directed to academic members of these professions who have created in Fine's view a series of essentially unrelated and inadequate explanations of personal and social experience. From anthropology and sociology to psychology and philosophy he criticizes as incomplete and insufficient those points of view that exclude psychoanalytic knowledge.
