In their continuing attempt to keep abreast of the current ferment in psychoanalysis, the Editors of The Psychoanalytic Review are initiating a new feature with this issue: interviews with distinguished psychoanalysts whose views will be of interest to readers of this Journal. Joseph Reppen (JR), member of the Editorial Board, conducted this first interview with Merton Gill (MG), who has made wide-ranging contributions to theory, clinical technique, and research.
