This issue is dedicated to Roy Huss, who met an untimely death in Sumatra during January of this year. Roy was a devoted member of our Editorial Board who could always be counted upon to contribute his many talents to whatever editorial job was at hand, whether it was to write a quick review, whip a paper into shape, or handle the numerous technical tasks that bring each issue to completion. As a critic, he was thoughtful and always constructive in his comments. He brought to his work a wide scholarship in the humanities, a generous, modest spirit, and a graceful writing style. Most recently, he created our Film and Drama Department and, as its first Editor, introduced the work of gifted reviewers to our pages.
Above all, Roy was a kind and decent man whose quiet presence, well tempered judgments and gentle humor won our respect and affection. He is sorely missed.
