Freud in Bulgaria Psychoanalysis, Literature, Translation: An Experience with the Singular

Graduated from the German high school (Galabov Gymnasium) in Sofia and obtained an MA in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from Sofia University. She is a member of Bulgarian Psychoanalytic Space, where she received her clinical formation in psychoanalysis, and an editor and consultant at the publishing house of the Center for Psychosocial Support in Sofia. Her translations of Freud are published by the KX—Critique and Humanism Publishing House. She is currently a candidate at the National Psychological Association for Psychoanalysis (NPAP) in New York City.

Associate Professor in the Department of Theory and History of Literature at Sofia University, Bulgaria. She is the author of Infancy and Intellectual History of Bulgarian National Revival Writers (2018), Chaos and Disorder. The Contingent of Language, Literature and Philosophy (2018), and coauthor, with Kamelia Spassova and Vassil Vidinsky, of Exotopy: On the External Context of Literature (2020). She is an editor of Literary Journal, a managing director of VS Publishing House, and a member of the Bulgarian Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies. She has published three books of poetry: The Eye (2004), Under the Knife of Supper (2008), and Sun-Technique (2024).

Associate Professor of Comparative Literature and Chair of the Department of Theory and History of Literature at Sofia University, Bulgaria. She taught at the Philosophy Department of the Slavic Institute at the University of Cologne (2016-2018). Her book Event and Example in Plato and Aristotle (2012) explores the poetics of the example, while Modern Mimesis. Self-Reflexivity in Literature (2018) traces the transformations of the concept of mimesis in the 20th century. She is an editor of Literary Journal and author of two books of poetry: Plot No. 17 (2007) and Kenosis—A Book of Emptiness (2016).
