The Interpretation of Dreams is considered one of Freud's most important works. Freud's interest in dreams went far back to his childhood, much earlier than the writing of this book; starting from the early stages of his life, as well as being a good observer of his dreams, he is also known to have recorded them. According to Freud, the idea that every dream represents a wish fulfilment is confirmed after the analysis of his own dreams. Freud's psychoanalytic theory of dream formation and interpretation constituted one of the most important stages in the development of psychoanalysis. In The Interpretation of Dreams, Freud presents a method of analyzing unconscious processes while introducing basic definitions of psychoanalysis. Along with this study, psychoanalysis has started to be accepted as a method of interpretation as well as a theory.
