The infantile as a psychic structure should not be confused with aspects that pertain to the child. In this paper the infantile and the unconscious will be held as synonyms. From Freud's point of view, the infantile corresponds to the convergence of the unconscious with sexuality. This is the time of the infantile amnesia that covers the first six, eight years of life. This period is marked by sexual experiences that will be repressed. The psychic structure that we name as the infantile is constituted after the repression of the infantile sexual experiences. This is the time when fundamental elements with respect to the sexual identity are formed, along with the constitution of a subjective history.
