This article looks into Adalet Ağaoğlu's world ‘in her novels’ with sensitivity about ‘fathers and their daughters’ and within the context of the ‘loneliness of girls.’ It discusses how Ağaoğlu, as a creative writer, problematized this conflict on the ‘aesthetic’ level through Aysel, the main character in the trilogy Dar Zamanlar(In Distress). It was first presented as a paper at the Adalet Ağaoğlu Symposium organized by Boğaziçi University, School of Turkish Language and Literature on 15 May 2002, and then published in Hayata Bakan Edebiyat (Literature Looking into Life) .*
