Boredom is a very difficult experience to grasp and conceptualize. Dealing with the experiences that the boredom accompanies or transforms can be a way of conceptualizing it in a psychic way. Existential boredom is a common and suffocating feeling which cannot be explained by any loss. Where it can be localized is a place within the body (Baudelaire's “spleen”). Existential boredom evokes a void that no object can fill. There is also void in depressive distress, but this void is the remainder of the lost object. However, since the person is not aware of the loss, he canno tengage in mourning and tries to make sense of the void. On the other hand, the boredom accompanying with anxiety directs the person to the other more than the previous ones. In this sense, the search for meaning and verbalization is more prominent.
