In this article the writer makes a review of Freud's work concerning the precessors of group theory and the characteristics of the group that Freud belongs to, in order to understand these precessors better. It is of course the primal phantasy that is determinant. It is necessary to discuss the aspects that go beyond the individual in order to understand social entities and culture; this is done through a thorough examination of the example of Vienna Psychoanalytical Association.
