Psychoanalysis, while clearing the path for the clinician into the depths of the individual psyche, at the same time provides an opportunity for the relationship between individuals and between generations to be approached in a different way. Therefore, when entering upon the road provided by psychoanalysis, we include in the therapy process the mother-father who bring us their child, the family that leads one of their members to us. This means that in the clinical work, alongside with the children, we also have to work with the mother, father and thus the family. This is not only a theoretical and clinical necessity. The history of the child has to be respected too. The child creates the family. Especially if it is the first child, many things start with its birth. With the birth of the child, mother and father appear and a family is created. The child is recorded into the family chain of both families and takes its place in the family's history. This recording can only be done by giving the child a name. How is this name chosen? Who choose it? Of course, it not possible to suppose that such an important issue should not be affected by tradition.
