Since the article “On the Psychical Consequences of Anatomical Differences” that Freud has written in 1925, an epistemological discontinuity has been created in the theory of femininity. Before 1925, Freud had accentuated the femininity of the daughter in relation to her father. But after 1925 the girl's sexuality is characterized essentially by her penis envy and thus by her masculinity. S. Faure establishes an analogy between the psychical functioning of women who suffer from sterility and the Freudian version of femininity after 1925. The similitude of both of them rely on the mechanism of denial. Women who suffer from sterility deny their femininity and in the same way Freud denies the feminine aspect of the girl.
