Transmission between generations is considered as a violence made to the infants, this in two ways: -by its modalities, as it occurs in a way unknown by the subject, in the form of traces, of “pictograms” as P. Aulagnier expresses it in her theory -by it contents which often concern a repressed, non said family past, this due to its often traumatic or shameful nature, a past which remains present under the form of “phantoms” or “crypts” according to N.Abraham and M.Torok. These violent contents originate family dysfunctions and individual psychic troubles. Psychoanalytic family therapy is proposed as a means of group reworking of these contents in order to accede to their, this time conscious, appropriation by the family and by the individual.
