In this essay, Hakan Akdoğan's book “İlişmek” was analysed, through the discussion of the identity crisis in regard to the father, of competition, jealousy and the act of murdering the one who is loved. The book points out the inner world of Ayaz, who has murdered his wife because of jealousy. An unresolved Oedipal rivalry of Ayaz in regard to his father; and the sadomasochistic relationship between him and his wife are also important.
In the conversation with the author after the presentation of the book, it was emphasized to what extent the author reflected the problems with respect to his father and how he created the main character and how he structured the plot and jealousy.
