Little changes lead to transformations that constitute a specific character and identity of the individual. Kafka presented a special part of a human psyche by verbalization of the unthinkable, of what could not be remembered and a traumatic type of preoedipal period in Metamorphosis. This metamorphosis is backwards and reminds a regression that couldn't turn to be a progression. Gregor's inability to speak, to communicate and to find a way to express his feelings and needs make this process a continuous regression to death. Kafka's impressive ability to verbalize every detail that comes to Gregor's mind and also representing the story within a family context facilitate the reader's identification with Gregor. Through this narration, which opens to the bizarre parts of the internal world, Kafka uses rich metaphors like insect, door, photograph, frame, etc. as vehicles of this journey on the borders of reality.
