In his paper “Fear of Breakdown”, Winnicott talks about a fear, which is universal, but exceedingly predominant in some people. “Fear of Breakdown” which can also be named “Fear of Doomsday” subsists as a “continuous feeling of reality” when there is environmental inefficacy, that is when there is no continuity. The continuity that the environment is supposed to provide is replaced by the continuity of fear. The Armenian genocide, the great disaster that happened in our land a hundred year ago, shows that the doomsday has already taken place. As this phenomenon that took place in the past has not been accepted, discussed; in other words historicised, the fear of disaster continues to exist and one disaster follows the other.
