Anxiety is not felt in an ongoing situation, it is felt for a situation that we expect it to happen. In case of anxiety, the pronounced threat is coming from the internal world, so it cannot be stopped by action.
However, if the disorganized (free-floating) anxiety is attached to an exact object/condition, then symbolization can take a part in the process. The object which is attached to anxiety is called “phobic object”. Every child who represents a phobic attitude asks for an accompanist as “a guarantee that s/he has not killed the one next to him/her”. This accompanist is like a representation of protective parents. Learning is also possible with an accompanist in most. For learning, there should be curiosity and desire to know. At the same time, children inevitably need adults’ facilitation in the process of learning. Counter intuitively, the frame of school in terms of time and place can help to smooth kid's anxiety.
