The concept of “reverie”, which lies in the center of Nesrin Koçal's text, has been examined. The author has tried to show how the analist uses it when he/she works with the patient. This concept finds its true meaning, in the “analytical couple, as emphasized by W. Bion, or in the “field theory” of A. Ferro or in the field that T. Ogden names as the “analytic third”. During analysis, the analyst and the analyzand exist as individuals with their own unconscious. But the analytic process does not consist only in the interaction of individual characteristics. The latter inevitably interact with the unconscious common to the analytic couple, which is in dialectical movement with their intersubjectivity.
