In recent years, due to the changes in educational system and high academic expectations, the graduation process for adolescents who have been invaded with parental ideals can be seen as a necessary stage for tackling the main issues of adolescence such as separation and being a subject. These important issues are often postponed in the process of university entrance exam preparations, and the symbiotic relationship between adolescents and their objects can be sustained. However, even if the adolescent does not give up on the emotional bond with his or her objects, he/she is expected to have the necessary ‘permission’ and ‘authorization’ to transfer his / her libidinal investment to others for becoming a subject. As graduation approaches, an ambivalence may be observed in adolescents; a wobble between ‘staying or going’. Some look forward to graduation, believing that they will fly out of the nest and be free; get rid of their parents' approach which make them feel puerile. However, for some adolescents who have not undergone emotional separation, symbiotic relationships with parents are maintained in most cases unless there is an external necessity such as graduating, attending a university, or moving to a different city or even country to continue their education.
This process can cause various crisis situations for adolescents, families and schools, and can be an important opportunity if taken together with the adolescent's basic needs and difficulties in terms of being a subject.
