Beyond the Pleasure Principle written by Sigmund in 1920, is one of his most discussed texts. On the other hand, this text is also important because it bears traces of his personal life. The First World War, the death of his daughter from the Spanish flu epidemic, and the death of a very close friend must have definitely influenced Sigmund Freud when writing this text. ıt is most likely that concepts such as the death drive, the repetition compulsion and the first steps of the second topic could only arise from these experiences.
