Psychoanalytical psychodrama provides a means of symbolisation that makes it possible to overcome psychotic defense mechanisms aiming to avoid the imaginary and the unknown in the psyche. An example of a young schizophrenic patient who was treated by individual psychoanalytical psychodrama for seven years, shows the difficulties of psychotic solution and the conditions in which violence and destructiveness develop in the symbolisation process. During the treatment, the removal of the denial and the split of the ego has certainly created a psychotic crisis, but it has helped to overcome the feeling of unreality and to remeet with the ego integrity in the patient's psyche.
