The pandemia imposed the practice of the telepsychoanalysis, creating a strange situation “far away, so close”! In the first part of the paper, the main Freudian and post-Freudian parameters concerning the setting are presented. In the second part, the modifications and, in case of bad practice, the alterations of the psychoanalytic situation are discussed. Special attention is given to the absence of the physical presence in the same room as a factor that could turn analysis to intellectualization, supporting the analysand's Ego in the struggle with the external reality and avoiding the so called “historical- genetic” interpretations about his/her sexual and affective development. Despite the difficulties, the author maintains that, under the condition of constantly analyzing the counter-transference, the online analysis turns to be possible, offering new perspectives in the psychoanalytic practice especially that need to be examined.
