In this article, it has been discussed how the passages from Beyond the Pleasure Principle, especially on mental topography and functioning, can be re-read within the framework of various inferences and parallels required by the internal consistency and continuity of the whole Freud text, and how the mentioned passages can bring a potential expansion opportunity to Freud's mental topography and functioning theories.
This potential stay, which Freud pointed out, yet did not turn to transparency in its entirety, -is that, for instance, the lack of distinguishing of two different binding processing- has led to confusion, direction changes and blockages in the meta-psychological expansion of some mental phenomena. This may have condemned Freud too much to the root biological inferences in his design of the death drive, or rather that he gave too much weight to these biological inferences at one point, obstructing the possibility of exposing these potentials with sufficient clarity.
It can also be assumed that this potential undercurrent of Freud's text was problematized, emerged and developed -at least indirectly and intuitively internalized- within the theories of different post-Freudian psychoanalysts. Following such traces will enable the emergence of current interpretations of Freudian theory and the clinic, which are related to more undercurrents beyond their visible content, the continuity of these interpretations with different post-Freudian psychoanalytic theorizations.
