This article proposes a new concept of a primary Oedipus complex structurally deformed by the pressure of infantile polymorphous sexuality, in both normal and pathological development. Correspondingly, cleavage is seen as internal to all repression. An in-depth clinical case illustrates the dialectic of a regressive incestuous psychic relationship with the primordial maternal object in an adolescent, with his attempts to constitute a third-party paternal referent from fragments of representation of the Oedipal father.
A psychoanalytical approach to the contemporary crisis of the paternal function and the family, in conjunction with anthropology and the social sciences, reveals the current forms of cultural malaise, where the weakening of authority becomes an opportunity to reorganize Oedipus in a less patriarchal, more fluid direction.
These two lines of research overlap and make an original contribution to contemporary processes of subjectivation in adolescence.
