Adolescence is a process of re-historicising oneself. The role of the father in this historiography is very important. Because the father provides the story. And the reverse is also true since the father is brought to existence by this story. Because the father is fictional. The adolescent who has to construct a future must first construct a past. It is in this process of reconstruction that the paternal function emerges. This process will be realised through the development of the ideal of the self. However, if the ideal of self and the ideal self are confused, there is a danger of entering a dead end. Based on the works of Kafka and Dostoevsky, this article deals with the loss of the old father and the discovery of the new father in this new history-making process.
