The theater of the great artist and theater actor Genco Erkal, whom we recently lost, drew its power from his voice. This gave him the opportunity to define and practice the theater of poetry. Because the voice is vital as one of the main elements of the bond that is established with the other from the beginning of existence. On the other hand, it is also indispensable for the individual's relationship with his/her own body. Genco Erkal wanted to create a new meaning through poetry and his poetic voice and to show the audience the paths to innovation. Thus, he had the opportunity to open doors and build a world that expands as far as his voice can reach. He has done this especially through the works of great artists such as Nazım Hikmet, Bertolt Brecht, Can Yücel, Ahmed Arif and Aziz Nesin. In this way, he has transmitted a great and rich heritage to younger generations.
