Dear Friends:
I omitted to write on the 11th, being by the wish-fulfilment that Rank's plans for the holidays had already begun! It looks as if our correspondence may be irregular during the holidays, but I hope it will not cease and that we shall remain in touch.
We held our last meeting last week.2 The attendance has increased, the interest taken and the work done satisfactory, but elementary. I chiefly deplore the lack of original productivity, but it is certain that we are training a number of very sound analysts. A man named Egerton3 has applied for membership, saying that Professor recommended him. As nothing is known of him here, we should be glad of any information about him.
Jelliffe seems to be making a grand tour and writes to me from Zurich. He says that von Monakow4 is entirely Freudian (?) and that Bleuler feels hurt that Professor is »out« with him.
I suppose it is known that Stekel is in Chicago, and coining money?5
Frink was here this week and I had two long and very satisfactory interviews with him. We arranged that he cable on his arrival in N.Y. about the other American editors, but it will almost surely be Brill and Oberndorf, so I am having all the names printed on Nr 1 of Vol. II of the J. Frink will act as the American centre (for we could never rely on Brill)
