Dear Friends
Flugel and I worked through the Questionnaire on which we have to report to the Congress. Our plan is (1) To send to the Secretary of each society a copy of the enclosed Report as soon as I get an answer to this letter.
(2) As soon as they can be typed, to send to the Secretaries a suitable number to distribute among all members likely to attend the Congress e.g. about 150.
(3) To send only to the Secretaries a detailed appendix to the Report, containing the data of the replies we received from each Society.
We have had no reply from Berlin to the Questionnaire, doubtless because of Liebermann.2
As the Report ought to reach the Secretaries in time for them to discuss it at the Societies, if necessary, before the end of the session, it is urgently desirable that you answer this letter within a couple of days of receiving it, so that if there are any alterations to be made, they can be inserted.
Dr Rivers has just died suddenly.
Yours sincerely,
[Ernest Jones]
