Dear Friends,
We shall all feel regret that Professor's enjoyment of smoking may have to be restricted, but it is good to know that the trouble is only temporary. Correspondence with Professor, Fräulein Anna, Eitingon and Radó has rather drained what might otherwise be the contents of a Rundbrief, chiefly over the matter of the Abraham Memorial Heft. From Sachs I have not heard a word for many weeks and trust this is not due to any ill-health.
We have almost decided on the purchase of a house for our Clinic, but delays in the legal formalities and constructional alterations will prevent its being possible to start work before at least six weeks from now. Our courses of lectures are well received by an audience of from twenty to thirty doctors.
A certain Donna de Ortuzar is practising psycho-analysis in London and says she has studied under Freud and Rank and has »all diplomas«.2 A doctor Wilson3 in the North of England who says he has studied under Reik is also practising and training analysts – so I hear from rumours. All these statements may be quite untrue, but it would be a relief to have them checked from anyone who may know. It commonly happens that people return from visiting Vienna casually and make the most exaggerated claims, taking care never to enter into relations with our Society. I would appeal to you, l. Max, as President of the Education Commission, to begin your activities by trying to introduce a rule that when candidates are trained in another country, some notification of the fact should be sent to the Secretary in the country concerned. Otherwise we are in a very difficult position in knowing what attitude to take up about such people.
I have finished the Abraham OBITUARY for Heft 2. His bibliography is the third I have made and I want to remark that such things entail more work than anyone might think who has not had experience of it. To save
