Ladislav Grygar died prematurely at the age of 53 in 2007. In his work he integrated and bridged the postwar traditions of Czech dynamic group psychotherapy with his „foulkesian“ group psychotherapy training. This had been supervised by the Institute of Group Analysis at the end of nineties. Grygar always stressed the importance of a firm framework and stability of rules for creating a safe environment. His main interests were in group-analytic concepts, the treatment of borderline and narcissistic personality disorders, destructive phenomena in groups and transpersonal aspects of groups and Large Groups. He published widely on those topics.
