The paper looks into the contradiction between the theory of technique and clinical practice at Freud and presents a totally different Freud and not an impersonal, abstinent, neutral psychoanalyst, a master of transference and resistances, expectances inspired by the classical model of psychoanalysis. A question thus arises: Was Freud in fact Freudian? As any brilliant personality, the founder of psychoanalysis was contradictory in his statements, this being one of the roots of pluralism in psychoanalysis.
