2017 is an anniversary year. We celebrate 10 years of Romanian Journal of Psychoanalysis (RJP), a milestone in a hopefully enduring and meritorious endeavour.
Our current editorial team, including some of the people who started the journal as well as people who joined along the way, is proud and glad to bring this event to the attention of the readers. We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to all those who laid the foundations of the journal, starting with the authors, the readers, the professionals in the scientific and editorial boards, the Romanian Society of Psychoanalysis management - under the aegis of which the publication is issued, designers, editors, peer-reviewers, translators, proof-readers, desktop publishers and web designers.
Each of them has brought in, little by little, a particular and important part of their experience, ideas, work and time, to develop a sound project, namely the RJP. The written word, besides the fact that it implies a perhaps greater rigour and solemnness compared to the spoken one, may convey and ensure the persistence of the idea, calling to self-reflection and accommodation. In the professional and cultural life of a community - be it of psychoanalysts or a more extended community, of people - the existence of a publication open for individuals of high intellectual standing speaks well for the identity essence of this community, and consequently represents the basis and the instrument of exchange, of dialogue with the others. There is no coincidence that the main topic of the two issues of 2017 will be Identity. There is no coincidence that, on this occasion, we will have as guests' psychoanalysts who, a decade ago, had the inspiration and courage to initiate this project, namely the RJP.
