Mircea Cărtărescu is, without question, one of the most remarkable Romanian contemporary writers - poet, novelist, essayist - his
books are translated in numerous languages and available in many countries, always fueling rewiews, debates, interviews, interpretations, reinterpretations. As a result, it was no accident that this psychoanalytical dialogue between two readers with a passion for Mircea Cărtărescu's writings - Daniela Luca from Romania and Guillermo Julio Montero from Argentina, their perspectives reuniting on the subject of the novel Solenoid (, ed. I).
Written over a period of seven years, as the author confesses, the novel Solenoid remains the emblem of Romanian postmodern thinking and literature (through techniques such as introspection, self-investigation, confessions, superficiality, specularity, perspectivism, visionarism), as in order to stage the most metaphysical and metapsychological of auctorial intentions: the desire to effectively access another dimension, another existence or world.
This is why, through Solenoid, unlike his other novels, the writing of Mircea Cărtărescu is no longer a simple sublimation through and for literature, but an insatiable and despairing attempt at transcending and transforming striving for the O (the Ultimate Truth), as W.R. Bion stated, and to the encompass, in a unique, exhaustive, although improbable, look at all that can be contained by an expanding mind: a literature without minor stakes, continuously balancing the author and the reader between everything and nothing.
