The present translation is a new one by James Strachey.
Parts of Lectures XXX and XXXI of the original were included in Almanach 1933 (9-30 and 35-58); and part of Lecture XXXIV in Psychoanal. Bewegung, 4 (November-December, 1932), 481-97. Lecture XXX, in the English translation of 1933, was included in Devereux, Psychoanalysis and the Occult (New York, 1953), 91-109.
We learn from Ernest Jones (1957, 186-7) that, although the volume was dated ‘1933’ on its title-page, it was actually published on December 6, 1932—thus repeating the history of The Interpretation of Dreams (see below, p. 219).
