The publication of volume 1 in the spring of 1978 met with several practical, financial and organizing problems not foreseen by the editorial board. It has therefore been a great pleasure and encouragement for the editors that The Scandinavian Psychoanalytic Review has been very well received, and that it has provoked interest far beyond the Scandinavian countries.
Economic reasons alone have prevented us from making publicity for the journal, and it is therefore with particular pleasure that we note requests for subscriptions to volume 2 from almost all parts of the world. This alone dissipates any doubts we might have had about continuing the publication of a strictly psychoanalytical journal.
The decision to start The Scandinavian Psychoanalytic Review was made by the Scandinavian Psychoanalytic Cooperation Committee at the 5th Scandinavian Psychoanalytic Congress, August 1976. When meeting again in August 1978, in connection with the 6th Scandinavian Psychoanalytic Congress, the Cooperation Committee strongly supported the editors in their efforts to continue the publication of The Scandinavian Psychoanalytic Review. It was then decided that the editorial board, which had edited volume 1, 1978, should continue. The editorial board has since decided that the board should be jointly responsible for the publication.
The aim and scope of The Scandinavian Psychoanalytic Review was stated in the editorial of volume 1, and no changes will be made in this respect.
