Applying the thoughts of Tustin, Ogden and Winnicott, this paper describes the sources and the dynamics of the autistic encapsulation, the earliest autosensory defence of the personality. Detailed clinical material illustrates the working-through process of the autistic defensive strategy in the analysis of an adult person.
