With the previous issue of Scand. Psychoanal. Rev. (vol. 25, no. 2), Henrik Enckell has taken his leave as Editor-in-Chief, and the editorial office has moved from Helsinki to Copenhagen.
Henrik Enckell led the editorship from 1998-2002 and has been a remarkable editor in various ways. First and foremost, he has been much appreciated for his handling of the key functions of this job, and is known as a stringent, respectful and careful reader of the papers submitted, and a kind and balanced intermediary between authors and reviewers. He has also put much work into securing the scientific standard of the journal and making it a well-known and respected journal in an international context. Under his leadership, the procedure for the evaluation of manuscripts has changed to an anonymous peer-review evaluation in accordance with accepted standards for scientific journals. In addition, he has reached an agreement with David Tuckett as regards “Psychoanalytic Electronic Publishing” (PEP), with the result that the journal will be found in the next version of PEP (CD 1, version 4), which is planned for release this summer, and has applied for inclusion of the journal in the Social Sciences Citation Index. Besides this, Henrik Enckell has strived hard to improve the difficult economic situation of the journal and has succeeded in significantly reducing the production costs. Although he has “retired” from the editorial task, he is still engaged in this work.
The Scandinavian Psychoanalytic Societies are grateful for the excellent work Henrik Enckell has done and still does. It is a great honour to be the one to thank him, and a challenge to succeed him.

Although we have worked together only for a short period, I would like to thank her for her engagement and readiness to help and assist the new Editor-in-Chief. She is replaced by David Titelman who is warmly welcomed as the new member of the board from the Swedish Psychoanaly
