Acting on the recommendation of the Committee on Affiliate Societies, chaired by Dr. David Leach, the Executive Council has approved the affiliation of the Florida Psychoanalytic Society as the 27th Society in the American Psychoanalytic Association. Council's approval will be submitted for a final vote at the Annual Meeting of Members in May, 1967, as provided by the By-Laws. The Florida Society has Dr. Herman Selinsky as its President.
Dr. Leach's committee, whose members are Drs. James T. McLaughlin, Henry H. W. Miles, Haskell F. Norman, Daniel Silverman, Samuel J. Sperling, and Eleanor A. Steele, also reported a set of guidelines to be used in evaluating new societies applying for affiliate status in the Association. These guidelines will be described in detail in a future issue of the Newsletter.
