Reflecting the widespread concern with contemporary problems of the “younger generation”, the Joint Session of the American Psychoanalytic and American Psychiatric Associations will deal this year with the topic of “Youth Unrest.” Scheduled to be held all day on Monday, May 13, as the last event in the APsaA Meeting and the first in the convention of the APA, the panel will be co-chaired by Drs. Eugene Pumpian Mindlin and Edward M. Weinshel. Dr. William Peltz will serve as Secretary and Dr. Abert J. Solnit as Moderator.
Two papers will be presented:
“Early Adolescent Development and Social Change”, by Dr. Calvin F. Settlage.
“Adolescent Development and the
Generation Gap”, by Dr. Stanley Goodman.
Dr. Peter Blos, Sr., will open the discussion of Dr. Goodman's paper.
The Joint APsaA-APA sessions have regularly attracted a large audience, and in view of the intense national interest in the problems of adolescents, it is expected that this year's panel will be heavily attended.
