The Edward L. Bernays Foundation will present an Award of $1500 and a scroll to the author of the book published between May, 1969 and December 31, 1971, which makes the most constructive application of psychoanalysis to the solution of social problems. The American Psychoanalytic Association, which will have sole responsibility for designating the judges who make the selection, accepted the Award at the May, 1969 meeting.
The purpose of the Award, to be known as the Freud Award, is to memorialize Freud by linking his name with broad constructive social goals and to strenghten public interest in the social applications of psychoanalysis.
The donor, Mr. Edward L. Bernays, an outstanding pioneer in the field of public relations, is a nephew of Sigmund Freud.
