Friends and colleagues were shocked during the past summer to learn of the death of Dr. Seymour L. Lustman. Dr. Lustman, who was Secretary of the Board on Professional Standards of the APsaA from 1967-1970, died in a boating accident early in August, while vacationing in Maine. He was 51 years of age.
Only a few months earlier he had been appointed Master of Davenport College at Yale, (Newsletter, June, 1971) and had moved with his wife into the Master's house shortly before his death. A Professor of Psychiatry at the Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Lustman was a key member of the Faculty and Staff of the Child Study Center. A Memorial Service was held at Davenport College on October 10.
It has been announced that his widow, Mrs. Katharine Ritman Lustman, has been appointed Acting Master of Davenport College for the coming year. This is the first time in the history of Yale University that a woman has served as Master of one of its Colleges.
