At the December 12th meeting of the Executive Council, Dr. Edward Joseph extended warm praise and appreciation for the selfless skill with which Dr. David Kairys had launched and developed this Newsletter. He noted that the greatest tribute to Dr. Kairys' dedication lay in the fact that, for many members, the Newsletter seems always to have been “there;” it is difficult to remember when it was not available to members. Dr. Burness Moore joined in praising Dr. Kairys who responded with characteristic modesty at the occasion of his official retirement as Editor. Dr. Shelley Orgel assumes the editorship with the current issue, fully cognizant that Dr. Kairys has smoothed the way for the continuation and further development of this means of mutual communication between the membership and the national organization.
