Rather than give fragmentary reports on the work of each Committee of the Board and Council, we shall follow the procedure used at the December Meetings which allowed for fuller discussion of a few major issues, while postponing the presentation of others. Some reports of Committees of Board and Council will, therefore, be reported in the next issue of the Newsletter, to be distributed before the Annual Meeting in Denver. We hope to present in the next issue information on the activities of Committees concerned with health insurance problems, Peer Review and P.S.R.O.'s, issues of confidentiality, and COPER concerns and plans.
In his report at the December Meetings, Dr. Alex Kaplan discussed the budget for 1974, projecting an income of $348,641, or an increase of 21% over 1973; and expenses of $332,516, or an increase of 18% over 1973.
Of particular interest in his report was an announcement of an increase in dues to be given to the International Psychoanalytic Association from $20 to $40 per active member. He also notified the membership that the work of indexing the last twenty volumes of the Journal by Dr. George Klumpner's Committee will cost $10,000. Consideration is being given to future expansion of the overcrowded quarters of the Central Office as part of a five-year financial plan for the orderly development of the Association.
