You must listen to the Superego's voice;

There is no other choice!

Lest errors plague in phases yet to be,

And treatment ladders stalled by greasy rungs,

Stay bound to surface words and free

From tangled depths which taunt untutored tongues.

Sneeze not at Signal Angst and such;

An affect teased apart is work enough.

There's loads to do with “loss of love,” and much

More in dreams than merely latent stuff.

Engage the home and job. Take cognizance

Of all. Turn not with ridicule and scorn

From day-to-day's persistent “dull” events;

Of such prosaic things are terminations born.

An elegant remark is measured so:

The Self asserts while old Defenses go.
