(In addition to information discussed in some detail elsewhere in this issue of the NEWSLETTER, the following items have been selected out of many of general interest which deserve but cannot be allotted more space at this time.)
Two new Joint Ad Hoc Committes of Board and Council were announced: The Committee on Associate and Affiliate Membership, Dr. Francis McLaughlin, Chairman; and the Committee on Confidentiality, Dr. Jerome S. Beigler, Chairman.

The Committee on New Training Facilities, Dr. Homer Curtis, Chairman, announced the establishment of a training program in the Westchester, New York area which would be sponsored by the New York Psychoanalytic Institute. There will be careful evaluation of the program's development to insure that there will be no lowering of standards nor an encroachment on the valid interests of the existing New York Institute.
The Committee on Institutes, Dr. Leon Ferber, Chairman, announced the end of formal relationships between the Department of Psychiatry at Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Psychoanalytic Institute. The Pittsburgh Psychoanalytic Institute will continue its accredited status as a non-profit organization, and its Education Committee is the continuing responsible body for the training institute in Pittsburgh.
The Philadelphia Association and Downstate will have site visits in 1975.
In order to assist data gathering, Dr. Ferber would like to learn of instances where candidates have been challenged by the Internal Revenue Service for deducting their training analysis—either as a business or as a medical expense.
The Joint Ad Hoc Committee on Certification will be chaired by Dr. Burness E. Moore, replacing Dr. Francis McLaughlin. The many activities of this committee will be discussed in detail in a forthcoming Newsletter.
