At the meeting of December 20, 1975, the Association voted Dr. Kenneth T. Calder of New York to be President-Elect.
Dr. Calder has made valued contributions on psychoanalytic education that have had impact both nationally and internationally. For the A.Psa.A. he was chairman of the Committee on Psychoanalytic Education from 1969 to 1975 and has been a major planner and participant in COPER through all phases of its functioning. For the I.P.A. he has been a member of the Program Committee, Treasurer, and Vice-President, a position he currently holds.
He is a Training and Supervising Analyst at the New York Psychoanalytic Institute and at “Downstate.”
A tall, thin man, Dr. Calder moves and talks quietly. Those who have been present at either small or large groups where he has participated have quickly learned to appreciate the clarity, forthrightness and penetration of his judiciously timed and worded comments. One knows that this man is worth listening to.
Both Dr. Kairys and Dr. Serota have made distinguished contributions to the Association and will bring wisdom and widely varied experience in educational issues to the Board.
