The Third Conference of the European Psycho-Analytical Federation will take place in London from the evening of Thursday, 11th October, to the afternoon of Sunday, 14th October 1979. The Conference is open to all Members, Associate Members and Registered Students of Societies and Study Groups of the Federation and appropriate guests. The theme is “New Perspectives on the Negative Therapeutic Reaction.”
The scientific program will take place at the Wembley Conference Centre which can be reached by underground or train within 20 minutes from the centre of town. There will be four plenary sessions, starting on Friday morning at 9 and ending at lunchtime on Sunday. There will be no scientific programme on Saturday afternoon. The plenary sessions will be devoted to the presentation of five clinically-oriented papers on various aspects of the negative therapeutic reaction. Each of these presentations will be commented on by a discussant, and followed by plenary discussions. Printed versions of each paper in English, French and German will be available to participants at each scientific session and there will be simultaneous translations by professional interpreters of the remarks by the discussants and of all the contributions to the plenary discussions into the three official languages of the Federation. An introductory paper by the Federation's President will be sent to all registered participants.
Receptions for all participants and accompanying persons will be offered by the Federation on Thursday evening, 11th October, and by the British Society on Friday evening, 12th October. The Reception on Thursday evening will be held at the Middle Temple Hall, one of the 17th century dining halls of the ancient Inns of Court.
