At the December 1979 meeting, the Association voted Dr. Morton F. Reiser of New Haven to be President-Elect.
Dr. Reiser has made original contributions to psychoanalytic education and research, notably in the area of psychosomatic disorders, and has carried the image of psychoanalysis as a clinician, teacher, researcher and administrator in the academic field, first as Professor of Psychiatry at Albert Einstein School of Medicine, and since 1969 as Professor and Chairman of Psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine.
A member of our Association since 1963, Dr. Reiser has served with distinction in a number of important committees, including the Board of Professional Standards, CORST, and COPER, being currently active in the Fund for Psychoanalytic Research, Committee on Scientific Activities, and Ad Hoc Committee on Feasibility of Non-Medical Training. He is a Training and Supervising Analyst at the Western New England Psychoanalytic Institute since 1972.
Dr. Reiser will serve a two-year term as President-Elect, beginning in May 1980.
Both Dr. Boesky and Dr. Meissner, new Councilors-at-Large, have made distinguished contributions to the Association, and promise to bring wisdom and varied experience to the Council.
