Early last year, Dr. Jerome Oremland of the San Francisco Society asked a number of psychoanalytic colleagues to contribute reprints of their work, as well as relevant journals and books, to the Library of the Indian Psycho-Analytical Society (14, Parsibagan Lane, Calcutta-9, India). Dr. Oremland received recently the following letter of appreciation from the president of the Indian Society, Dr. D. N. Nandi:
Dear Dr. Oremland,
I have received your letter of August 10th, 1979.
There has been no bureaucratic interference. Books and reprints have, indeed, been pouring in, and we are so very grateful to you for the help you are rendering to the Indian Society. As soon as books and reprints started arriving sometime in March, I wrote to you and also to all authors individually, whose books and reprints had by then been received. I wonder what happened to them. However, I am writing to them again, and also to other authors. Meanwhile, please convey the Indian Society's deep sense of gratitude to them.
The Council of the Indian Society at its meeting on September 12th, adopted the following resolution.
“Resolved that grateful thanks of the Council of the Society to Dr. Jerome D. Oremland and other members of the American Psycho-Analytical Association be recorded for their most magnanimous help to the Indian Society and this be communicated to them.”
Yours sincerely,
(D. N. Nandi)
